Two major municipal facilities

Two major municipal facilities

Oviedo has two excellent congress and event halls that are owned and run by the municipality: the Auditorium-Congress Palace Principe Felipe and the Exhibition and Congress Centre.

Two urban and central buildings, with all the necessary equipment and facilities to host all kinds of meetings. They can provide halls of varying capacities to adapt to any format the organisers may require. These two buildings concentrate most of the events. However, there are other facilities in Oviedo with halls that can host events: hotels, professional associations, the university and the Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA).

The Auditorium-Congress Palace Principe Felipe and the Exhibition and Congress Centre are owned by the City Council and are run by the Department for Tourism and Congresses, more specifically, by the Municipal Department that includes the Oviedo Convention Bureau (OCB), which was established in the early 1990s. This is a public agency attached to the Spain Convention Bureau network, an organisation dependent on the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, with more than 50 members and dedicated to promoting MICE tourism in Spanish cities.
