OTHER CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

With a view to reaching all audiences, Oviedo has made an effort to create a cultural programme adapted to all tastes and ages. Indeed, every October, since 2013, the capital of Asturias celebrates its Noche Blanca (White Night), in which locals and tourists can enjoy dozens of cultural activities free of charge based on innovation, creativity, citizen participation and the opening of spaces that are not accessible during the rest of the year. El Festival de Intervención Mural de Oviedo “PareesFest” (Oviedo Mural Intervention Festival "PareesFest") is another example of participative culture whose interventions, about thirty, have created artistic works in various areas of the municipality and changed the aspect of road partition strips, sometimes deteriorated and sometimes just boring, into art.
