NATURE AND SPORT

Oviedo

Oviedo is not just the city centre.

The municipality boasts areas where nature is the greatest attraction. The meanders that the Nora River forms as its flows through the village of San Pedro de Nora until it joins the Nalón River at the Priañes Reservoir is a hydro-geological formation well worth a visit. This Natural Monument marks the boundaries between the councils of Oviedo and Las Regueras.

Another natural spot well worth a visit are the waterfalls of Guanga or Buanga, on a route that starts in the town of San Andrés de Trubia, passes through forests of native vegetation, and follows the Buanga River. Some sections of this route are quite high, providing wonderful views of the Trubia Valley.

Another interesting and highly recommended spot is the historical complex of Olloniego, a number of buildings that include religious, civil and engineering elements linked to a path and a natural spring.
